Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarships in Japan
- You must not be a Japanese national.
- You must be enrolled or in the process of applying to a Japanese university by April 2025.
- Your study period in Japan must be more than 12 months.
- You must not be older than 35 years old for doctoral programs and 30 years old for master’s programs.
- You must have a clear career plan and a strong intention to return to your home country after completing your studies.
- You must have a good understanding of international relations and be willing to participate in the organization’s seminars and activities and become part of the alumni network.
- You must be able to communicate in Japanese.
- You must not be a recipient of any other scholarships.

Required Documents for Scholarships in Japan
To apply for the scholarships in Japan, you will need the following documents:
- A personal photo with a file size not exceeding 500 KB.
- A video presentation lasting up to two minutes, where you discuss your research plan. The video file should not exceed 1 GB in size. You can speak in either English or Japanese.
- A copy of your academic transcript.
- A detailed research proposal outlining your intended research project.
- A letter of recommendation from a professor at your university. This letter should be sent to [email protected] before the application deadline and must include your name and your application form number. Alternatively, recommendation letters can be uploaded directly and should include the recommender’s signature.
- If available, a document confirming your acceptance to a Japanese university. If not yet available, you can provide the anticipated date of acceptance and send this document to the foundation as soon as you receive it, you can know more details from here.
How to Apply for the Scholarships in Japan ?
